Explained in Three Steps
Creating a Waterproof Barrier
The Pacific Northwest demands a roof that can handle heavy rain, ice, and wind-driven moisture. Before a single shingle is installed, we create an engineered barrier to protect your home from moisture.
Protecting Against Nature’s Elements
Your shingles are your home’s first line of defense and its most visible feature. We install only genuine Owens Corning roofing shingles, engineered for strength and beauty.
Balanced Attic
Ventilation
A roof doesn’t just need to keep water out; it must let heat and moisture escape. Without balanced ventilation, trapped heat can prematurely age your shingles and drive up energy costs.
More Than a Roof: A More Comfortable, Efficient Home
SEAL: Ice & Water Barrier
We install the Owens Corning® Self-Adhered Ice & Water Barrier in vulnerable areas like valleys, eaves, chimneys, and skylights. It helps prevent leaks caused by ice damming and wind-driven rain.
We follow that with the Owens Corning® Synthetic Underlayment, a tough, water-shedding layer between your shingles and the roof deck, providing a critical secondary defense against moisture.
DEFEND: Roofing Shingles
We start with Owens Corning® Starter Shingles, the essential foundation for your shingles. They feature a continuous sealant bead that locks down the first row, preventing shingle blow-off during high winds.
The Owens Corning® Shingles are what you see from the street. Available in a wide array of colors and styles, these are rated for up to 130 mph wind resistance with patented SureNail Technology.
We also use Owens Corning® Hip & Ridge Shingles that are precisely matched to your shingle color. They add a finished, architectural look while protecting the roof’s most wind-vulnerable peaks.
BREATHE: Intake & Exhaust Vents
The final step is VentSure® Intake & Exhaust Vents. We create a continuous, balanced flow of air. Cool, dry air enters through soffit vents, while warm, humid air exists through ridge vents.
The Result: This helps prevent ice damming in winter, reduces attic temperatures in summer, and protects the interior components of your roof system from heat and moisture damage.

Our reviews
I could not be happier with the results, awesome job.
We just had a three sided screened in porch installed. Two sections were motorized retractable and one was a stationary section with a storm that included a doggy door! I could not be happier with the results, awesome job. Highly recommend!
Biggest regret is not screening our porch sooner.
We installed a fixed panel screen w/screen door as well as a motorized screen on our covered back porch. We’ve gained a versatile al fresco entertaining space that’s virtually bug free. What’s not to like about that? Anyone who has spent time on our screened-in porch loves it—money well spent!
Great experience with the team!
The guys showed up to do our retractable screen on a pretty large patio (over 40’) with some retractable and some fixed…they did an amazing quality job…stayed till we were elated, went over the instructions and cleaned everything up.

Our FAQ
What is the Owens Corning Complete Roofing System, and how is it different from just buying shingles?
The Complete Roofing System is more than just shingles. It’s a fully integrated, code-approved system of components designed to work together for superior protection. While a basic roof replacement might only include shingles and felt underlayment, our system includes layered protection: ventilation, leak barriers, synthetic underlayment, starter strips, ridge vents, and shingles. This total system approach helps prevent leaks, improves wind resistance, and can extend the life of your roof.
Is there a warranty included?
Absolutely! PNW Outdoor Living offers industry-leading warranties.
Why do I need a leak barrier? Doesn’t the shingle itself stop water?
Shingles shed the majority of rain, but wind-driven rain or ice dams can force water to back up under the shingle edges. The Owens Corning Leak Barrier is a self-sealing membrane installed on the most vulnerable areas of your roof (eaves, rakes, valleys, and around penetrations like chimneys). It seals around nails and stops water that gets past the shingles—providing critical backup protection you don’t get with felt alone.
Is installation included?
Yes! PNW Outdoor Living handles everything from design to expert installation. Our single-source accountability means you’ll have one trusted team managing the entire process—no contractors or DIY headaches.
Do you handle permitting?
Yes, we take care of the permitting process for you. Our team ensures all local regulations are met, saving you time and stress.
What kind of ventilation is included, and why does it matter?
The Complete Roofing System includes ridge vents and intake ventilation (like soffit vents) to create balanced airflow. Proper ventilation removes hot, moist air from your attic. Without it, heat and moisture can warp your roof deck, void your shingle warranty, and increase energy bills. By including engineered ventilation, our system helps your roof stay cooler in summer, drier in winter, and performs as intended year-round.
Is the Complete Roofing System more expensive than a standard shingle replacement?
The initial cost is slightly higher because you’re buying more components than just shingles. However, it is significantly more cost-effective in the long run. A standard roof may fail prematurely at leak-prone areas like eaves or valleys, leading to expensive interior damage or early replacement. The Complete Roofing System minimizes those risks, often pays for itself by preventing one major leak, and qualifies for better warranties. Most homeowners find the small upfront premium well worth the long-term security.
